Bridal Gown Sale in Delco Benefits Breast Cancer Patients and Families

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Area brides-to-be can get discounted wedding dresses tonight and tomorrow while helping a good cause.

Hundreds of gowns are now at the Clarion Hotel in Essington, Pa., in preparation for the Delaware Valley's stop of the "Brides Against Breast Cancer Nationwide Tour."

Senior vice president Amy Paulishak says 80 percent of the proceeds from dresses sold this weekend will help women battling breast cancer.

"We fund healthsupportnetwork.org," she says.  "It's an online resource that provides educational and support programs not only for cancer patients but for survivors, caregivers, and their family members."

Paulishak says about 700 new or gently used gowns are on display here this weekend -- "sizes 2 through 20, and they range from $75 to $1,800."

And there are not just dresses.  Brides can also browse sashes, tiaras, and veils.

To register for this event, go to www.bridesABC.org.
