Boys & Girls Club In Nicetown Cuts Ribbon On Newly Renovated Digital Technology Lab

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Wayne Street Boys and Girls Club in Nicetown cut the ribbon on a newly renovated digital technology lab Thursday. As KYW Community Affairs reporter Cherri Gregg tells us, it marks the beginning of a multi-million dollar, national partnership with a cable giant.
My.Future means new floors, fresh paint and furniture.
"I like that it looks brand new."
State of the computers, tablets, smartboards and cameras equipped with software that'll prepare kids for a digital world and ignite a passion for technology.
"I had learned how to make my own story board."

The $100,000 investment into the Wayne Street Boys and Girls Club, is just the first part of Comcast's five-year technology partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
"It's a tens of millions of dollars a year commitment, cash and in kind across the country and it's helping to roll out this program," said Executive Vice President of Comcast David L. Cohen.
Cohen says other Philadelphia Boys and Girls Clubs will also be renovated.
American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks helped cut the ceremonial ribbon.
My.Future will be rolled out in 4,100 clubs nationwide.
