Boy, 12, Among 3 Charged In Knifepoint Robbery Of Cell Phone In Camden County

PINE HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- A 12-year-old male was among three juveniles charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery outside a convenience store in Camden County.

The robbery happened at about 2 p.m. on June 21st in the 800 block of Turnersville Road in Pine Hill, New Jersey.

According to investigators, the victim -- a 12-year-old male -- said he was walking past a convenience store when he was stopped by three juvenile males.

Investigators say a 15-year-old male threatened the victim while holding a knife to his chest and forced the victim to hand over his cell phone.

After obtaining the victim's cell phone, the 15-year-old and his two alleged accomplices -- a 12-year-old male and a 16-year-old male -- ran away from the scene.

Shortly after the robbery, officers with the Pine Hill Police Department located the suspects at the Deptford Mall.

The suspects were taken into police custody.

The 15-year-old is facing charges of Armed Robbery, Conspiracy To Commit Robbery, Unlawful Possession Of A Weapon and Possession Of A Weapon For Unlawful Purpose.

The 12-year-old and 16-year-old are facing charges of Conspiracy to commit robbery.
