Nothing suspicious found at Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa after man claimed he had guns, explosive device

Borgata Hotel Casino shooting threat prompts large police presence in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Atlantic City police didn't find anything suspicious at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Thursday night after receiving an anonymous call from a man claiming he had firearms and an explosive device inside the hotel. 

Police said they received the call just before 4 p.m.

Officers and Borgata security conducted a sweep of the building, and parts of the hotel were evacuated out of an abundance of caution. People have since been let inside and law enforcement cleared the scene, police said. 

Police said the validity of the threat is under investigation.
