Body Is Found Inside Vehicle Pulled From Christina River In Delaware

WILMINGTON, DE (CBS) -- Delaware officials say a person was found dead inside of a vehicle that was pulled from the Christina River Saturday afternoon.

Wilmington firefighters say they responded to a shortly before 3:30 p.m. to a call that an occupied vehicle had entered the water behind the Joe's Crab Shack along the 600 block of Justison street.

Upon arrival officials say they found a submerged SUV in the Christina river, and a rescue was initiated.

Officials say that at about 4:30 p.m. a body was found inside the vehicle pulled from the water.

Police say the victim was a 42-year-old male that would be pronounced dead on the scene by New Castle County paramedics.

The victim's body would then be turned of the the Division of Forensic Services even though police say that their are no indications of foul play is suspected.

Their is still no word on why this vehicle entered the water.

This incident remains under investigation.
