Bennie Logan Admits Defense Wasn't Buying Into System Early Last Season
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Eagles defense got off to a horrid start in 2013 behind new a new coaching staff and defensive coordinator Billy Davis's new system, allowing 138 points in their first four games (1-3). Eagles second-year defensive tackle, Bennie Logan, admitted it the team wasn't buying into Davis' 3-4 system immediately.
"The first couple games of the season, it was a rocky start," Logan told Josh Innes and Marc Farzetta Friday on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show. "New system, new coaching staff, new players. Everybody trying to fit into the scheme of the defense and we weren't really buying into what the coach was telling us. We were trying to go out there and do our own thing, but once we realize our own things wasn't working we came together and played as unit, you see the success we had."

Nick Foles heads into the 2014 campaign, his third season, as the unquestioned signal-caller of the offense. Foles is developing the reputation for a "nerdy" personality, but Logan---who shared a locker with Foles---says that's not true.
"I wouldn't necessarily consider him a nerdy guy," Logan said. "The only thing---he's just his own kind of person, his own kind of star. He doesn't do too much talking anything. He's all about his business, reads the bible, and things like that. Just takes care of his personal life and football too."
As for Logan's expectations for the Birds?
"We definitely feel like we are a team that can compete for the Super Bowl and that's our ultimate goal, but it's a process."
