Ben Davis Named Newest Addition To Phillies Broadcast Team
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Comcast Sportsnet, the main television home of the Phillies, announced on Thursday that former major league catcher and Delaware County native, Ben Davis, would be the newest addition to the broadcast team.
Davis will join a broadcast team that includes former Phillies Matt Stairs and Mike Schmidt as well as Tom McCarthy and Gregg Murphy.
Comcast's first 2015 Spring Training telecast will be on March 3rd at 1 p.m. and that game will mark Davis' broadcasting debut with the club.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ben, a former major league catcher and Delaware County native, to our Phillies broadcast team," said Comcast SportsNet President Brian Monihan in a statement.
"Ben is a true student of the game and has provided valuable insight to our Phillies Pre and Postgame coverage. We are confident in Ben's ability to inform and entertain fans with his distinctive analysis and easy-going style during our game broadcasts."
"Growing up a Philadelphia Phillies fan, this is a dream come true," said Davis. "I look forward to working with Mike, Matt, Tom and Gregg in the booth, and I thank Comcast SportsNet and the Phillies for this opportunity."
Davis has become a familiar voice to sports fans in the area with his regular appearances on the 94 WIP Morning Show and other various appearances on the station.
