LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture confirmed the state's first positive case of the avian flu on Saturday. It was found in a flock of commercial chickens on a Lancaster County poultry farm.
The disease is highly infectious, and can be deadly for birds, but it doesn't pose a risk to the public.
Poultry and eggs are safe to eat if cooked properly.
