Authorities Working To Shut Down 'Nuisance' Motorcycle Club In Camden

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Camden County authorities are working to shut down a motorcycle clubhouse in Camden that's been a nuisance and an eyesore for some time.
In the process, they took back a piece of city-owned property.
Bulldozers razed a garage along Princess Avenue next to the Wheels of Soul headquarters where a member was arrested last week on sexual assault and weapons charges.
Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson says cops have been engaged in what he calls a "cat and mouse" game for years with the club.
"You recall maybe about three years ago, we went through this series of events where we closed them down … boarded them up. We went through a series of court hearings and then we're back at it here again," Thomson explained.
A few unregistered motorcycles were parked outside the club as crews cleaned up the now empty lot.
The plan is to throw the bikers out, padlock the building, which has a number of safety code violations inside, and in time, tear that down as well.
