Authorities Need Help Identifying Man In TD Bank Robbery
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The FBI and Philadelphia police need help identifying the man who robbed a TD Bank Friday morning.
It happened around 7:57 a.m. at the TD Bank located at 399 Market Street.
Authorities say the man entered the bank and presented a threatening note to the teller.
The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, which he placed in a dark-colored messenger bag, and fled the bank in an unknown direction. That bag was found discarded in Port Richmond.
FBI spokesman JJ Klaver says the man apparently also robbed the TD Bank at 11th and Chestnut on Wednesday.
"When you look at the pictures, it's pretty clearly the same guy." said Klaver. "In this robbery he was wearing a blue long-sleeve button down shirt and an old-Phillies logo baseball cap. In the Wednesday robbery he was wearing a Flyers cap."
The robber was described as a white male in his early 30's, 6' tall, with a beard and mustache. He was wearing a blue collared long-sleeved shirt and old Phillies logo baseball cap. He is considered armed and dangerous.
No one was injured in either robbery.
Anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's capture.
