Atlantic City Man Sentenced In Heroin Distribution Plot
CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – At Atlantic City man has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute heroin along with a gang leader.
Twenty-six-year-old Aree Toulson, a/k/a "Beyah" or "Beyeazz," was convicted of distributing heroin for Mykal Derry, a leader of the "Dirty Block" gang. The two allegedly used threats, intimidation and violence to maintain control of the drug trade in Atlantic City.
Toulson reportedly helped distribute the drugs around several housing projects, the Stanley Holmes, Carver Hall, Schoolhouse, Adams Court and Cedar Court in Atlantic City.
Toulson was arrested on March 26, 2013.
Toulson pleaded guilty to a superseding information charging him with one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute to possess with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of public housing.
Toulson will also serve eight years of supervised release.
