As Search For Frein Continues, Hunting And Trapping Ban Lifted In Some Of Pike County

LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – The Pa. Game Commission has lifted the temporary prohibition on hunting and trapping in some areas of Pike County.

The ban had been in place since last week due to the ongoing manhunt for police ambush suspect Eric Frein, who shot and killed State Police Cpl. Bryon Dickson II on Sept. 12th.

As of Friday, hunting and trapping is again permitted in all of Lehman Township and the eastern areas of Blooming Grove and Porter townships.

The order also reopens most of State Game Lands 180 within Pike County, including the State Game Lands 183 shooting range in Palmyra Township.

Hunting and trapping does, however, remain closed in all of Greene Township in Pike County and in Price, Barrett and Paradise townships in Monroe County.

Hunters are urged to remain "cautious" and report any suspicious activity to police.
