Armed Robbery Suspect To Victim: 'I Don't Want To Shoot You, But I Need To Feed My Family'
ABSECON, NJ (CBS) – Police in Absecon are searching for a robbery suspect who targeted the Red Roof Inn.
Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about an armed robbery at the Inn located at 405 Absecon Boulevard.
According to the victim, who was a night clerk at the hotel, the suspect entered through the front doors of the establishment and approached the front desk while pointing a handgun at the victim.
The suspect then demanded money and reportedly said, "I don't want to shoot you, but I need to feed my family."
The victim opened the register and gave the suspect approximately $400 in cash.
The suspect then fled and left the scene in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Absecon Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a black male with a deep voice. He's about 6'2" with dark colored eyes and was wearing a black ski mask, a dark green hooded sweatshirt, dark colored gloves and dark colored cargo style pants.
The vehicle is reportedly a dark colored sedan.
