4 men wanted in armed home invasion in Lower Moreland

Suspects pose as delivery workers, hold woman at gunpoint during home invasion in Montco: Police

LOWER MORELAND, Pa. (CBS) – Police are looking for four men accused of posing as delivery workers and holding a woman at gunpoint during a home invasion in Montgomery County. The incident happened on Feb. 9, just before noon, near Huntingdon Pike and Byberry Road in Lower Moreland Township.

Police say a woman was home alone when three men with Amazon boxes knocked on her door. The woman opened the door and the men volunteered to bring the delivery boxes inside. That's when police say one of the men held the woman at gunpoint.

Meanwhile, police say the other two men ransacked the home for 15 minutes before fleeing in a white van. The fourth suspect was in the van during the home invasion.

Detective Holly Halota of Lower Moreland police released a composite sketch of an alleged suspect involved in a frightening home invasion last month.

"I'm hoping somebody will recognize someone who looks like this," Halota said.

The suspect is believed to be the suspected getaway driver. He's described as 35-40 years old with a scar on the right side of his face and missing teeth. He was seen in a white van and spotted by a curious neighbor.

Once inside, one suspect put a gun to the woman's head and told her not to move. Then the other two suspects ransacked the home before getting taking off in a white van parked across the street.

"It does have a dent on the rear passenger side," Halota said.

The incident has neighbors startled.

"That is very frightening," Jerry Gensiejewski said. "Unbelievable."

"It's very terrifying," Michael Usonis said. "It's very worrisome. There's a lot of elderly people in this neighborhood and they're easy to fall for that kind of trick."

The three suspects who carried out the home invasion are believed to be between 18 and 25 years old. Neighbors are hoping arrests are quickly made.

"In this day and age, there's no place you don't expect it," Usonis said.

Police believe the home was targeted because the homeowner owns a business in West Philly that deals with cash. But police say no cash box was found. The homeowner wasn't home at the time.

If you have any information, police are asking you to contact Detective Halota at hhalota@lowermoreland.org or to call (215) 947-3132.
