Another Top State Official Resigns In Midst Of Porn Office Email Scandal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A second Pennsylvania state official has stepped down in the wake of the scandal surrounding some pornographic emails exchanged among a number of state officials.
Governor Corbett announced Thursday night that a top lawyer for the department of environmental protection had quit. However, Glenn Parno didn't give a reason for his resignation.
The move by Parno follows his boss' lead, as Environmental Protection Secretary Christopher Abruzzo had resigned earlier in the day.
The emails given to the governor's office were exchanged between Abruzzo, Parno and current State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan. All three of them were working under Corbett during the six-year span when the governor was the state's Attorney General.
During Wednesday's Gubernatorial debate heard live on KYW Newsradio, challenger Tom Wolf commented on the issue:
"Culture starts at the top. If there's a culture that somehow makes it seem that kind of thing is permissible, that's a problem."
During that same debate, Corbett said he wishes he was made aware of the emails sooner:
"I can't tell you how disappointed I was because we had strict rules against it, and I did not receive any of those emails. I wish they would have sent me one. I wish they would have because it would have stopped right then and there."
Current Attorney General Kathleen Kane's office says it discovered hundreds of pornographic emails while reviewing the Jerry Sandusky case, and that more emails are expected to be turned over to the governor's office at some point Friday.
