Another Snowstorm On The Way

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - After Saturday's storm dropped up to 9" of snow in some parts of the region, we catch a brief break for the rest of the weekend, before another snowstorm arrives late Sunday night.

Sunday will remain quiet with some sunshine and high temperatures near average around 40 degrees.  Our next clipper system will bring clouds and light snow will begin to develop from west to east around 9pm-midnight Sunday night.  Temperatures will be below freezing, so the snow will accumulate into Monday morning.  The Monday morning commute will be slow and tricky with snow covered roads.  Expect periods of snow to continue into Monday afternoon with 1-3" of accumulation expected through afternoon.

Latest forecast guidance now shows the weak clipper system intensifying off the east coast later Monday afternoon.  Where and when this intensification occurs will determine how much additional snow we could see.  As of now, it looks like eastern NJ will see the most snow.  If the storm does intensify close enough to the coast, expect more snow Monday night into Tuesday morning.

As of now, expect total snow accumulations of 3-6" from Philly on eastward with the highest amounts in eastern NJ and 1-3" North and west of the city.  This set up is very tricky and snow amounts could change either way depending on how the storm evolves on Monday.
