'Andre Watts Plays Beethoven'

By R.J. McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Orchestra presents "Andre Watts Plays Beethoven" on November 13th, 14th and 15th at Verizon Hall.

Jeremy Rothman, the vice president of artistic planning, spoke about the connection Andre Watts has with the Orchestra and the city.

"He spent a lot of time growing up in Philadelphia, made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at age 10. So he's got an incredibly long connection to this orchestra. Anytime he's here, there's that immediate chemistry between him and the Orchestra and him and the audiences," Rothman said.

"To hear him play the music of Beethoven is always a special treat as well, with the many wonderful colors he can create out of the instrument and his wonderful approach towards these Beethoven piano concertos," Rothman added.
