Person driving stolen vehicle dies in crash after police chase in Philadelphia suburb, police say

Police chase turns into a car crash in Tinicum Township, Delaware County

A person driving a stolen vehicle died after crashing during a police chase in Tinicum Township, Delaware County, on Thursday, police said. The person's identity isn't known at this time. 

The crash happened at Industrial Highway (Route 291) and Wanamaker Avenue just after 5 p.m.

Police said a stolen vehicle was spotted in Eddystone, a few miles away from Tinicum Township, and the driver fled. The person then crashed into another vehicle on Route 291 and Wanamaker Avenue, according to police.

The driver in that vehicle was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, according to police. Their condition is unknown. 

Chopper 3 was over the scene and spotted multiple cars badly damaged and debris all over the intersection. 

The crash is under investigation.
