AAA Mid-Atlantic: New Jersey Gas Prices Down Slightly

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $1.89, down 4 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.45.

The price drop marks the second straight week where pump prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price on Friday was $2, down a penny from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.48.

Analysts say gas prices will likely fall or stay stable in the coming weeks, noting that unseasonably mild weather across most of the country has reduced demand for gas.
