A Jenkintown Food Market Prepares Free Spaghetti Dinner For Storm-Slammed Neighbors

JENKINTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Some local business are pitching in to help area residents who are now in their third day without power.
The eastern Montgomery County area got hit pretty hard with outages. At one point more than 90 percent of Abington Township was in the dark.
So, the Whole Foods supermarket in Jenkintown is stepping up to provide a spaghetti dinner for the community, between 5:30 and 7pm tonight.
"We still have a lot of people in the surrounding area that haven't had power for a few days," notes Dana Mensah, the store's marketing team leader. "We want to help them out as much as we can, so they can come and have a hot meal, charge up their phones, and meet up with friends that maybe they haven't seen who are also without power."
There's no cost for the meal, and Mensah says this is just another way for the store to connect with its customers and the community.
Given the social media response, Mensah says, they're expecting a few hundred people.
