How Are You Paying For Your Summer Vacations?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Just in time for the Summer travel season, a new survey shows how we pay for our trips.

We are planning to getaway from the workday grind and Matt Schulz, senior industry analyst at CreditCards.com, says most of us will use savings or credit card points and bonuses to pay for the fun.

"44% of Americans are gonna take a vacation this summer, but about 2/3 of those taking a vacation are expecting to pay off that vacation within a month and that's really good news," said Schulz.

He says many of us are still hesitant to take on debt following the great recession.

The survey showed that those willing to put trips on plastic were mainly 65 and older. Millenials are least likely to use credit cards for a jaunt.
