76ers Welcome Phoenix Suns To The Center
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The 76ers have lost two straight and seven of their last nine, but they will try to right the ship on Monday night as they welcome the Phoenix Suns to the Center.
Overall on the season, the 76ers are 14-30. Last time out on Saturday they lost to Oklahoma City, 103-91. Kevin Durant was outstanding in that game, finishing with a triple-double (32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists).
Phoenix is 25-18 and this will be the second leg of a four-game road trip for the Suns. They opened this trek on Sunday night, rallying from an 18-point halftime deficit to win, 99-90. In that game Phoenix held Cleveland to just six points in the 3rd quarter and 29 in the second half.
This will be the second and final meeting between these two teams this season. Phoenix won the first out in Arizona on December 28th, 115-101. Thaddeus Young had 30 points and 10 rebounds in that game for the 76ers. Center Miles Plumlee led the Suns with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
For a team that plays in Arizona, the Suns have a real Philadelphia flavor. Their roster features former Temple star guard Dionte Christmas and Philadelphia natives, forwards Marcus and Markieff Morris.
