560-Pound Man Hopes To Win Back Wife With Cross Country Bike Trip

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 560-pound man is riding his bike across America to take control of his health and to win back his estranged wife.
Eric Hites rode through Philadelphia's Fairmount Park on Wednesday.
The self proclaimed "fat guy" began his journey in Massachusetts and he is heading to the West Coast. His radical plan to win back his wife has taken the internet by storm.
"We had separated for numerous reasons associated with me being lazy and getting fat, needing to take my life back" Hites said. "I was at that point, rock bottom and I needed to do something. She kind of thought I was nuts and never thought I'd do it."
So far Hites has lost 70 lbs.
He has raised more than $12,000 online for the trip.
