Accusing Gov. Corbett of Stonewalling, Medical Marijuana Proponents Threaten Sit-In

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- Supporters of legalizing medical marijuana in Pennsylvania are threatening to camp outside Gov. Corbett's office unless he agrees to a meeting to discuss the issue.
At a press conference this morning, the chief proponent of medical marijuana in the state legislature –- suburban Philadelphia state senator Daylin Leach, who's also seeking the Democratic nomination in the 13th Congressional District -- said the governor hadn't even responded to a request for a meeting that he made in November.
Christine Brann, of Hershey, Pa., is the mother of a young son with a severe form of epilepsy. She believes medical marijuana is the only course of treatment left to her son.
"We see no other choice and no way to get the governor's attention than to do a sit-in at the governor's office so our voices can be heard," she said this morning.
The medical marijuana supporters say unless they are given, by May 2nd, a confirmed date for a meeting with Corbett, they will, at a time of their choosing, gather in the governor's reception room until he agrees to meet.
