4 South Jersey Residents Accused Of Stealing Nearly 50 Air Conditioning Units

LAUREL SPRINGS, N.J. (CBS) -- Four suspects are accused of stealing nearly 50 air conditioning units from buildings in South Jersey.

Police say the thefts happened between February 19th and March 29th at multiple business parks and buildings throughout Gloucester County.

According to the Gloucester Township Police Department, the suspects would disconnect air conditioner units from the buildings and dismantle them to scrap them for their parts.

Investigators said the suspects would remove the copper and other metal parts and take them to scrap yards in exchange for cash.

Twelve victims in the Lakeside Business Park located off of Williamstown Road in Gloucester Township reported the theft of 24 air conditioner units with several others that were damaged, but not removed.

Nineteen of the victims in Washington Township reported the theft of another 24 air conditioner units in four different locations.

The suspects have been identified by police as: Paul Burke Jr., 29, of Franklinville; Mark A. Hendricks, 29, of Malaga; Amanda M. Dicicco, 24, of Sewell; Jessica L. Belh, 19, of Monroeville.

The suspects are facing multiple counts of Theft and Criminal Mischief.
