PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --Philadelphia Police are searching for several suspects in a jewelry store heist in Center City.
CBS 3 Eyewitness News reporter Diana Rocco spoke exclusively with the jewelry store owner.
A high priced jewel heist in Philadelphia's diamond district. Four thieves are caught on camera, first casing the store, walking up and down the sidewalk, then making a go for it.
"They cut my gate, spread it apart, smashed the front window, went in and smashed one case and opened another case and took off with about $300,000 to $400,000 worth of jewelry," owner Nathan Barsky said.
Owner Nathan Barsky says they triggered the alarm when they broke his door around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, but they were gone by the time his manager arrived seven minutes later.
"They were fast. I found rings and jewelry all over the street that they dropped running away," Barsky said.
Video shows the suspects running to their getaway car, a late model white Infiniti.
Police are now looking for two men and two women. Barsky thinks they've done this before.
"They wore gloves and they definitely were here before because they hit my one big case," Barsky said.
Barsky and other jewelers on the block have started putting gems in a safe overnight and installing bulletproof glass and iron gates.
"Right before Christmastime, it's just a big hit to take," said Barsky.
The owner says the cameras inside his store were not working at the time of the heist. He would like to see police patrol all night long. Anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia Police.
