3 Arrested For Triple Shooting In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police have announced the arrest of three men in connection to a triple shooting that took place in West Philadelphia on August 20.

Police have arrested and charged Cardell Hellams, 24, Gary Martin, 22, and Paul Kroll, 21.

Officials say that on Saturday, around 9:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a person with a gun and someone shot on the 100 block of S. 55th Street. Police found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

A 24-year-old was also found with a gunshot wound to the right leg. He was also taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.

Authorities say that 10 minutes later, a 15-year-old boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to his groin, hip and leg. He was in critical condition.

Hellams, Martin and Kroll were all charged in connection to the shooting. Hellams and Kroll both face charges of attempted criminal homicide, among related charges, while Martin faces a charge of obstruction justice among related offenses.
