2nd Suspect In Custody In North Philly Triple Shooting That Killed 2 Men

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police say a second suspect is in custody in a triple shooting in North Philadelphia three days into the new year that killed two men and critically injured a teenager.

A police spokeswoman said 19-year-old Angel Montanez turned himself in on Thursday. Nineteen-year-old Ativa Jackson was charged earlier with murder, conspiracy and weapons counts.

Officers called to the west Kensington neighborhood Jan. 3 found 47-year-old Richard Davila fatally wounded in the street. Police describe him as an innocent bystander struck by stray bullets.

Twenty-one-year-old Raul Rodriguez was shot in the back of the head and died three days later. A 17-year-old youth shot in the face inside a home was critically injured.

Court documents don't list an attorney who could respond to the charges against Montanez.
