The remarkable life of Benjamin Banneker – surveyor, mathematician, astronomer and farmer – is the subject of this year's African-American History Month program at the Mercer Museum. Light refreshments and conversation will conclude the program, presented in collaboration with the African-American Museum of Bucks County. Included with museum admission.

Visitors to the National Constitution Center in February can experience a variety of programs in honor of African American History Month. Explore the Museum's The Story of We the People exhibition to discover key milestones in African-American history. Dates: Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, 1 – 3 p.m.
In observance of African American History Month, the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is partnering with the African American Museum of Philadelphia to offer a special mural trolley tour of the Albert M. Greenfield African American Iconic Images Collection. This rich collection of images gives a visual autobiography of Philadelphia and of iconic African American figures of the past and present. Tours will be led by experienced guides who will discuss each mural, the artists, and the mural-making process.
Tours will begin and end at the African American Museum of Philadelphia (701 Arch Street) and the cost of the tour includes same-day admission to the Museum. Advanced tickets required, to purchase tickets please visit tours@muralarts.org or call 215-925-3633. Tickets are $32 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $28 for children ages 3 – 12.

Join the African American Museum of Bucks County (AAMBC) in celebration of Black History Month for a Happy Hour mixer at The Temperance House in Newtown, PA. Come, meet and enjoy the company of the movers and shakers on the Board of Directors. AAMBC is a traveling museum that was established in 2013 to bring little-known history of the contributions of blacks in Bucks County. All are welcome to attend. There will be colonial era food and drink.
