2 Olympians Return Home To Delaware Valley

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two Olympians with local roots have taken their medals back home to the Delaware Valley.

Cierra Runge is part of the gold medal winning women's 4 x 200 freestyle relay swim team.

She spoke with CBS 3 Eyewitness News at the West Grove, Chester County YMCA where she learned how to swim.

"I just kept going, and kept hitting each rung of the levels in swimming, and ultimately got to the Olympics, which was my end goal."

Nia Ali, from Philadelphia, won a silver medal in the 100 meter hurdles.

The significance? Her teammates won gold and bronze, so it's the first time Team USA swept the event in Olympic history.

"I've never dreamed of anything like that in my life. I got to meet a lot of cool people from a lot of sports. I got to share a bond with my teammates that is memorable and I will never forget."

Ali has roots in New Jersey as well. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in Atlantic County, transferring there from West Catholic High in Philadelphia.
