2 Arrested In Gloucester Township After Police Find Marijuana Inside Vehicle
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – An attempted traffic stop in Gloucester Township resulted in two arrests Thursday.
Police say that on Feb. 27 around 1 p.m., a Nissan Maxima was observed traveling along Erial Road in Blackwood with an expired inspection sticker.
The vehicle continued to travel onto Route 42 North as the officer attempted to stop the car for the violation.
Though the officer's emergency lights and siren were activated, the driver failed to pull over and continued north for a few miles before stopping near the Bellmawr exit.
A high risk stop was conducted and both the driver, Joseph Cameron, Jr., a 20-year-old from Pennsville, and the passenger, Joseph Gant, also 20 and from Pennsville, were taken into police custody.
During the investigation, two bags of marijuana were also found inside the car.
Cameron is now facing charges of Resisting Arrest (Eluding) and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and was also issued multiple motor vehicle summons. He was remanded to the Camden County Jail in default of $20,000.00 bail.
Gant was arrested and released for an outstanding warrant out of Penns Grove, NJ.
