15-Year-Old Del. Student Arrested After Loaded Handgun Found In Backpack
NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware say a 9th grade student was arrested after a gun was found in his possession inside a school on Thursday.
Police say the 15-year-old male, a student at Newark High School, was speaking with a Newark Police School Resource Officer about an unrelated incident when a loaded handgun was discovered inside his backpack.
That student was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Weapon in a Safe School Zone and committed to New Castle County Detention Center on $20,000 bail.
