Tailgating Eagles fans hopeful for 9th straight win

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Eagles were the NFL's last remaining undefeated team, but their bid for perfection ended Monday night in ugly fashion. The Birds turned the ball over and committed seven penalties in a 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Philadelphia Eagles were bound to lose a game, eventually, and that came on Monday night. The Birds couldn't overcome four turnovers and seven penalties in a 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.

Washington takes 5-point lead after Goedert fumble

Joey Slye nailed another long field goal to give Washington a 26-21 lead in the fourth quarter. The Commanders took advantage of a missed call -- a blatant face mask that led to a Dallas Goedert fumble.

Make that 5 straight games with an INT for C. J. Gardner-Johnson

C. J. Gardner-Johnson became the first safety to record an interception in five straight games since 2015.

Gardner-Johnson picked off Taylor Heinicke on a third down, shifting the momentum back to the Birds.

It was his sixth interception of the season, which leads the NFL and he's now tied with Greg Jackson for most INT by a safety in a season.

DeVonta Smith scores TD on birthday to cut Birds' deficit to 2

The birthday boy has made this a game. Jalen Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith, who turned 24 on Monday, for an 11-yard touchdown to make it a 23-21 game with 14:54 left in the fourth quarter.

Smith's TD capped off a 12-play, 80-yard drive.

The second-year wideout has six catches for 53 yards and a TD.

Commanders take 2-possession lead over Eagles

The Commanders have taken command of a two-possession lead after another long drive ended with three points. Washington's 14-play, 66-drive ended with another Joey Slye field goal, this time from 32 yards out.

Washington leads the Eagles 23-14.

The Eagles are getting gashed on the ground, allowing 130 yards and allowing 12 rushing first downs. The Commanders are 12-16 on third downs.

The Commanders have 32:12 in time of possession to the Eagles' 7:35.

Eagles down by 6 at halftime

The Eagles find themselves down six at halftime after Washington kicker Joey Slye drilled a 58-yard field goal to end the first half. The Commanders are leading 20-14 after 30 minutes.

Washington ran 51 plays to the Eagles' 19 in the first half.

Washington takes 17-14 lead

The Eagles defense has few answers for the Commanders' offense. Washington put together a 16-play, 86-yard touchdown drive to take its first lead of the game.

Brian Robinson gave the Commanders a 14-7 lead after a 1-yard run on 2nd and goal.

Jalen Hurts and the Birds will have 1:39 to work with before halftime.

Commanders settles for field goal to cut Birds' lead to 4

The Eagles' seven-point lead was cut to four after Washington put together a 12-play, 49-yard drive that ended with a field goal. The Commanders' drive lasted 6:30.

Philadelphia leads 14-10 with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Hurts' jump TD pass puts Eagles up 14-7

Two possessions and two touchdowns. The Philadelphia Eagles' offense is off to a quick start Monday night.

Jalen Hurts connected on a six-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert to put the Birds up 14-7.

The jump TD pass to Goedert came after a pass interference call that went Philadelphia's way.

Washington answers back with 13-play drive

The Commanders quickly responded to the Eagles' score with a lengthy 13-play, 75-yard drive that ended with an Antonio Gibson touchdown run. Washington ran the bad 10 times during the TD drive.

It was the Commanders' first touchdown in the first quarter since Week 1, per the TV broadcast.

The game is tied 7-7.

Strip-sack leads to easy 7 points for Eagles

The Eagles quickly turned a strip-sack into seven points. Shortly after Josh Sweat forced a Taylor Heinicke fumble, Jalen Hurts gave the Eagles an early 7-0 lead with a QB sneak.

Hurts' touchdown was his seventh rushing score of the season.

The Eagles lead 7-0 with 12:21 left in the first quarter.

The Philadelphia Eagles have released their inactives for their Week 10 matchup against the Washington Commanders. There are no surprises.
