Hurts then jogged into the locker room at halftime to join his team as the Eagles trail Washington, 7-3.
Hurts took multiple hard hits to his helmet against the Commanders, including one on a trick play where he got up slowly. Hurts finished the half by completing 10 of his 19 passes for 101 yards. He also rushed for 23 yards on five carries.

Eagles trail Commanders at halftime
The Eagles are trailing the Commanders, 7-3, at halftime after an ugly two quarters of football.
Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia's offense haven't been able to get anything going and have struggled to move the ball down the field, despite driving at the end of the second quarter to get a field goal. Hurts has completed 10 of his 19 passes for 101 yards, and has bailed from clean pockets, missed receivers and made poor throws. Hurts took several hard hits in the half and was in the blue medical tent to end the quarter.
A.J. Brown leads Philadelphia in receiving with three catches on 42 yards, but the Eagles' other pass catchers haven't really been involved. Saquon Barkley topped the 1,000-yard rushing mark on the season in the first half and recorded 56 yards on the ground.
Jake Elliott, Philadelphia's longtime kicker, finally connected with a field goal late in the first half, but he missed two field goals. He's missed five on the season. He only missed two last year.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia's defense has been doing its job against rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Daniels has been efficient and completed 8 of his 13 passes for 83 yards, but the Eagles' defense has done a solid job of limiting explosive plays. Brian Robinson Jr. scored the only touchdown of the game in the first quarter.
Standout linebacker Zack Baun leads the team in tackles with five and Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat have each picked up sacks.
Elliott finally connects on FG
After missing two field goals, Jake Elliott made a 21-yard field goal to make it a 7-3 game late in the first half.

A few plays later, Eagles kicker Jake Elliott missed his second field goal of the night. His attempt from 51 yards out went wide left.
Elliott has missed five field goals so far this season. He only missed two last season.
The Commanders will take over from their own 41-yard line.
2 drops kill Eagles' drive
Drops by DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson killed Philadelphia's third drive of the game.
Smith dropped a pass on first-down, while Dotson dropped a pass on a play that would've given Philadelphia a first down.
Brian Robinson scores to give Washington lead
Brian Robinson scored on a 1-yard touchdown late in the first quarter to give the Commanders a 7-0 lead over the Eagles.

Landon Dickerson limps off field
Eagles two-time Pro Bowl left guard Landon Dickerson limped off the field with an apparent injury on Philadelphia's first series.
Saquon Barkley rushed for a first down on the play on third-and-two, and it looked like the star running back landed on Dickerson's right leg. He walked off the field on his own power, but Dickerson looked like he was in pain.
Tyler Steen replaced Dickerson.
How Zach Ertz is still helping Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert
There's no concern Zach Ertz will be booed when he returns to Philadelphia in a Washington Commanders uniform Thursday night. The legendary tight end only made one of the greatest plays in Philadelphia Eagles history.
"He'll probably get a good one," Dallas Goedert said with a smile. "Not many people have scored a game-winning touchdown for the Super Bowl in Philadelphia history. I'm sure they'll be happy to see him again."
Vinny Curry, defensive end and Super Bowl champion, retiring as a Philadelphia Eagle
After 11 seasons in the NFL, defensive end Vinny Curry is officially retiring as a Philadelphia Eagle.
Curry, who helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII in 2017, announced his retirement on the PHLY Eagles postgame show following Philadelphia's win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Nov. 10.
"Growing up as a 5-year-old kid and being a diehard Eagles fan, to play here... and win a Super Bowl here, and to retire as an Eagle means a lot," he said.
The Eagles will celebrate Curry's retirement at Lincoln Financial Field tonight when the Birds host the Washington Commanders.
"I think the only thing that'll make that night more special is if we win," Curry said.
Eagles, Commanders inactives
Jordan Mailata is officially active for the Birds, which means he'll be back in the lineup against the Commanders.
