Hurts tosses 2 TDs, Eagles beat Texans to remain undefeated
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Jalen Hurts tossed two touchdown passes and Miles Sanders and Kenny Gainwell added scores on the ground as the Eagles beat the Texans, 29-17, on Thursday night to improve to 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Hurts completed 20 of his 26 passes for 241 yards to go along with his two scores through the air. He also lost his first fumble of the season early in the second quarter.
A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert hauled in the touchdown passes from Hurts. Goedert had himself a night. He finished with eight catches for 100 yards to go along with his touchdown.
The Eagles will play the Washington Commanders in Week 10 on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field.

Eagles beat Texans to start 8-0 for first time in franchise history
Jalen Hurts tossed two touchdown passes and Miles Sanders and Kenny Gainwell added scores on the ground as the Eagles beat the Texans, 29-17, on Thursday night to improve to 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Hurts completed 21 of his 27 passes for 243 yards to go along with his two scores through the air. He fumbled twice, including one that he lost in the second quarter.
A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert hauled in the touchdown passes from Hurts. Goedert had himself a night. He finished with eight catches for 100 yards to go along with his touchdown.
Sanders rushed for 93 yards on 17 carries.
Javon Hargrave had three sacks. C.J. Gardner Johnson and James Bradberry each had interceptions.
The Eagles' rushing defense struggled against the Texans with Jordan Davis out with an injury. Texans running back Dameon Pierce had 139 rushing yards on 27 carries.
The Eagles will play the Washington Commanders in Week 10 on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field.
Goedert TD adds to Eagles' lead
Dallas Goedert hauled in a touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to add the Eagles' lead early in the fourth quarter.
Hurts punched in a quarterback sneak on the two-point conversion to make it a 29-17 game.
Goedert is having himself a game against the Texans. He's caught eight passes for 97 yards along with that touchdown.
Texans settle for FG
The Texans were once again driving, but they settled for a field goal.
Ka'imi Fairbairn booted in a 30-yard field goal to make it, 21-17, and hack at the Eagles' lead late in the third quarter.
A.J. Brown TD gives Eagles lead
Shorty after C.J. Gardner Johnson's intercpetion, A.J. Brown hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to give the Eagles a 21-14 lead midway through the third quarter.
Brown has three catches for 57 yards during the game, including that touchdown.

The Eagles needed a big play, and C.J. Gardner Johnson delivered.

Eagles, Texans tied at halftime
The Eagles and Texans are tied, 14-14, at halftime. Jake Elliot missed a 54-yard field goal attempt that would've given the Eagles the lead.
Miles Sanders and Kenny Gainwell scored touchdowns for the Eagles. Sanders has 54 rushing yards on eight carries.
Jalen Hurts completed 14 of his 18 passes for 176 yards in the first half. He also fumbled early in the second quarter and the Texans recovered. It was his first lost fumble of the season.
A.J. Brown leads the Eagles in receiving with two catches for 40 yards. Dallas Goedert, DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins each have hauled in two receptions.
The Eagles get the ball back to start the third quarter.
Texans tie the game
Well, the Texans are making this interesting against the undefeated Eagles.
Chris Moore hauled in a 13-yard touchdown pass from Davis Mills to tie the game, 14-14, with less than one minute left in the second quarter.
The Eagles will opportunity to head down the field with three timeouts to potentially get a field goal, or even score a touchdown on a big play.
Fletcher Cox injured
Fletcher Cox was injured, but he tested his ankle and seems to ready to go.

Eagles take lead over Texans
Kenny Gainwell scored on a 4-yard rushing touchdown to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead late in the second quarter.
The Eagles responded and drove down the field with ease after Jalen Hurts fumbled on the previous series.

Miles Sanders has recorded 54 rushing yards on eight carries so far in the game.
Hurts fumbles, Texans recover
The Eagles were driving, but Jalen Hurts fumbled and the Houston Texans recovered.
Cornerback Steven Nelson, the former Eagle, came in on a blitz and forced Hurts to fumble. He never saw Nelson coming from his blind side.
Nelson recovered the fumble, and the Texans will set-up in their own territory.
The fumble was Hurts' third turnover of the season.
Eagles respond with TD
The Eagles responded to the Texans striking first.
Miles Sanders scored on a 1-yard rushing touchdown on fourth and goal late in the first quarter to tie the game, 7-7.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles had three different third down conversions on the 18 play drive that went 91 yards in just over minutes. Hurts went 8 for 12 with 76 passing yards.

Quez Watkins hauled in two passes for 25 yards. Kenneth Gainwell caught two passes for 13 yards and Hurts hooked up with four other Eagles through the air on the scoring drive.
Texans take lead against Eagles
Teagan Quitoriano caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Davis Mills to give the Texans a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.
The Texans went 75 yards on nine plays in just over five minutes to take the lead.

Davis Mills was a perfect 4 for 4 on the drive for 50 yards, including that touchdown pass to Quitoriano.
Phillip Dorsett hauled in two catches for 42 yards on the drive.
Dameon Pierce had four carries for 23 yards.
