MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- If you're planning on traveling to St. Kitts and Nevis, the Centers for Disease Control is urging you to practice enhanced precautions against the Zika virus.

Zika can be transmitted through mosquito bites. There is no vaccine for it.
The CDC says the best way to avoid contracting the Zika virus is to prevent mosquito bites.
People infected with Zika may not have any symptoms. Those with symptoms have reported fever, rash, joint pain and red eyes. The symptoms can last from several days to a week.
The CDC says it has received reports of Zika being spread through sexual contact with returning travelers infected with the virus. For more information for women who are pregnant or are trying to become pregnant, click here.
