Yankees postpone home opener against Red Sox due to rain
NEW YORK -- Opening Day will have to wait a little bit longer.
The Yankees announced Wednesday their home opener against the Boston Red Sox has been rescheduled because of rain.
Thursday’s Yankees-Red Sox Opening Day game has been rescheduled due to the forecast of inclement weather. The game will now be played on Friday, April 8, at 1:05pm at Yankee Stadium.

The game was originally set for Thursday but will now be played Friday, with first pitch at 1:05 p.m.
The Minnesota Twins also rescheduled their home opener against the Seattle Mariners because of blustery weather conditions.
