Yankees' Ivan Nova Goes On DL With Elbow Injury

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow and will be placed on the disabled list.

Nova left Saturday night's game against Tampa Bay in the fifth inning. An MRI exam after the game revealed the injury.

Nova will be further examined Monday in New York by Yankees team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad.

Nova is 2-2 with a whopping 8.27 ERA this season.

The Yankees and Rays play again at 1:40 p.m., when Bombers first baseman Mark Teixeira after suffering a hamstring strain earlier this month.
