Woman Injured In Crown Heights Police-Involved Shooting
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An investigation is under way after a police officer shot and wounded a woman in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon.
The police officers were called to the apartment in Crown Heights for an alleged domestic dispute, CBS 2 reported.
Police said when the officers went inside the home on Brooklyn Avenue and Bergen Street, an emotionally disturbed woman in her 30s lunged at the officers with a 15-inch knife, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.
An officer fired his gun once and struck the woman in the torso, Baumgarten reported.
She was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
