Suspects Sought In String Of Brooklyn Drugstore Robberies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police released surveillance photos and video of two suspects in a string of drugstore robberies in Brooklyn.
The robberies happened months apart, and at opposite ends of Brooklyn. The first incident happened in December in Williamsburg, while the second pair of robberies happened in April in Flatlands.
Around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, three suspects walked into a drugstore at 72 Manhattan Ave. in Brooklyn, and one displayed a firearm and demanded Oxycodone, police said. The suspects made off with $600 and with Oxycodone, Hydromorphone and Promethazine pills, police said;
Around 7 p.m. Monday, April 6, four suspects demanded cash and pills at gunpoint at a drugstore at 5829 Avenue T in Brooklyn, police said. The suspects made off with $8,300 and with Oxycodone, Oxycontin, and Percocet pills, police said.
Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, five suspects walked into a drugstore at 1675 Flatbush Ave. in Brooklyn, police said. They slammed the head of a 29-year-old male employee on the counter and forced him to the ground, kicked him, and demanded Oxycodone, police said. The suspects then forced the suspect to open a cash register, and they left with $100 and cough syrup, police said. The victim refused medical attention.
One of the two identified suspects was seen wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt with the Nike logo on the front, while the other was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweat shirt, police said.
