WATCH: Letterman, Belichick Playfully Discuss Deflategate On 'Late Show'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was a guest on the "Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS on Wednesday night, and, naturally, the host asked the Super Bowl-winning coach about the Deflategate scandal.

"I know you know exactly what happened," Letterman said. "You know I know you know, and what it was was some kind of horseplay. Am I right?"

Belichick, with a grin, responded "no," which prompted Letterman to crack up.

After the two discussed the topic of underinflated footballs in the AFC championship game against the Colts a bit more, Letterman again jokingly pressed the future Hall of Famer.

"Now where did it come from?" the host asked. "You know where it came from. Did it come from my Colts? Is that where it came from?

Belichick, in true Belichick fashion, responded with a smile on his face.

"Dave, we're just out there, playing a game, doing the best we can," the legendary coach said.

Letterman also got Belichick's take on Seahawks coach Pete Carroll's controversial decision to call a pass play at the end of the Super Bowl. The play, of course, resulted in an interception which sealed the Patriots' fourth Super Bowl win.

New England beat Seattle, 28-24, in Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1.
