WATCH: Jets Get Tricky For First TD Against Rams

Sunday marked the beginning of the Bryce Petty era for the New York Jets as the second-year QB out of Baylor got his first career start with the Los Angeles Rams in town.

The Jets were forced to punt after a three-and-out on Petty's first drive in control of the offense, but on the second drive he flashed some of the potential that got him drafted by the team two years ago. From his own two yard-line, Petty took a snap out of the shotgun set and fired deep down the sideline to rookie receiver Robbie Anderson.

The drive continued down to the Rams four, where on third-and-goal, the Jets pulled out a trick play.

Yep, that's Petty, throwing to Marshall who then flipped it to Bilal Powell around the end for a touchdown. Shades of Boise State circa mid-2000's from the Jets and it worked for the first score of the game.
