WATCH: Bill Maher, Jon Stewart Talk Mets On 'The Daily Show'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Bill Maher and Jon Stewart have plenty in common.

Both men make people laugh, both love to talk about politics and both have their own TV shows.

Oh, and they both happen to love the Mets.

Maher, who hosts "Real Time with Bill Maher" on HBO, was a guest on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Monday night.

As expected, it didn't take long for the comedians to start talking about their beloved Amazin's. Stewart asked Maher, who owns a small stake in the club, to bring a "jar of tears" that he's been saving to Citi Field.

"I've never been to an (ownership) meeting," Maher said. "I've been to the stadium a few times since that happened, but this is my first meeting tomorrow. They played awesome this week. I always bring them luck when I come to New York ... They're starting to hit, they're starting to hit. I'm telling you, weirder things have happened. Remember the '69 Mets?"

But while Maher remained optimistic, Stewart continued to playfully make fun of his favorite team -- as he often tends to do.
