WATCH: A Cappella Group, Six13, Performs 'Chanukah (Shake It Off)' Live On CBS2

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jewish celebration of Chanukah begins at sundown Tuesday.

The eight-day holiday, also known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem during the second century B.C.

Each night of the holiday is marked by lighting a candle on a menorah, eating traditional foods including potato pancakes and gift giving.

CBS2's Alex Denis got a head start to the celebrations with a special performance by the a cappella group Six13, whose holiday twist on Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" has gone viral.

Their video for "Chanukah (Shake It Off)" has been viewed more than 700,000 times on YouTube since it was published last Thursday.
