'Victoria's Victories:' Mississippi Girl, Recovering From Pit Bull Attack, Kicked Out Of KFC

JACKSON, Miss. (CBSNewYork) -- Outrage has erupted at a Mississippi KFC restaurant, after a 3-year-old girl and her grandmother said they were kicked out of because of how the girl looks.

Kelly Mullins said she was kicked out of the restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi, because of her granddaughter's scars. Victoria Wilcher had just spent a month recovering from a pit bull attack that left her critically injured, and was forced to wear an eye patch.

"The lady came over and said that we'd have to leave – Victoria's face was disturbing the other customers," Mullins said.

The KFC corporate offices issued an apology to the family, and released a statement saying: "We have zero tolerance for any kind of hurtful or disrespectful actions toward our guests..." and are "committed to doing something appropriate for this beautiful little girl and her family."

CBS 2 has learned the family pledged a $30,000 donation to help pay for Victoria's medical bills.
