Con Ed, DEP continue to make repairs after sinkhole forms on Upper West Side
NEW YORK -- There is an update on a sinkhole that caused major problems on the Upper West Side.
On Tuesday night, the clean-up continued.
Con Edison sealed a gas main that started leaking after a sinkhole swallowed up several vehicles earlier in the day at 71 W. 89th St.
The Department of Environmental Protection was checking and making repairs to underground water pipes.
About 25 customers are still without service.
Con Ed will return on Wednesday morning to wrap up its repairs.
