Toyota Recalls 18,000 RAV4 SUVs Due To Back-Up Camera Problem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Toyota is recalling one of its popular SUVs due to problems with the back-up camera.

It involves about 18,000 RAV4 and RAV4 hybrids from the 2019 model year.

Toyota says the back-up cameras may not activate when the cars are in reverse, leading to a crash if drivers aren't checking their surroundings.

The carmaker says all drivers will be notified by mail by early October.

The company will replace the faulty cameras at no charge.
