16-year-old shot outside Sardi's restaurant in Times Square
NEW YORK -- Five teens were taken into custody overnight following a shooting outside Sardi's restaurant in Times Square.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday on West 44th Street between 7th and 8th avenues.
Police said two groups of teens were arguing, when one pulled out a gun and opened fire.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.
Four of the five people questioned were released, but the fifth -- an 18-year-old male -- is expected to face charges.
Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be gang related.
