Times Square New Year's Eve Ball Tested Before Celebration

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- With one day until New Year's Eve, the world-famous Times Square ball went for a test run Thursday.

The ball was illuminated and sent up the 130-foot pole atop One Times Square.

It will descend to ring in the new year Friday night.

New York City is limiting the celebration to about 15,000 people who must provide proof of vaccination.
