Tim Tebow: I'm 'Pulling For The Broncos' To Win Super Bowl
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Tim Tebow is rooting for the Denver Broncos to win the Super Bowl so Peyton Manning can ride off into the sunset.
"I used to play for the Broncos so I'm kind of partial rooting for them, but at the same time, I used to play with Cam Newton when I was at Florida, so I hope he has a great game," the former New York Jets quarterback said on "The Ellen Show." "But I'm probably pulling for the Broncos, I guess."
Tebow believes Manning will retire if the Broncos win the Super Bowl against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
"Peyton, his career, to be able to see the sheriff finish it off the right way, it would be pretty fun," he said.
Tebow was the Broncos first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and led the Broncos to a playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers the next year.
He last played for the Jets in 2012 and has been cut by the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles since then.
He told Ellen DeGeneres that he's still hoping for another opportunity in the NFL.
"If I have the right opportunity. Obviously, I love playing the game so much. I'm in the best shape of my life. I feel good," Tebow said.
The former Heisman-winning quarterback is currently an analyst for the SEC Network.
